Truman Chocolates - Sparkling Artisanal Bonbons

Truman Chocolates

A hometown boy returns home to open a chocolate shop and start a family. That sounds like the beginning of a Hallmark movie to me!

Mitch Siegert, owner of Truman Chocolates, grew up in the Bryan-College Station area. With dreams of opening a restaurant, he traveled to New York to attend the Culinary Institute of America, where he earned degrees in both the culinary arts and the baking and pastries arts programs. After graduation, he worked for Food Network and then a chocolate school, teaching people how to make showpieces. It didn’t take long for him to come back to his hometown though, where he decided to open a specialty chocolate shop, Truman Chocolates, in Bryan, Texas in 2006.

His shop wasn’t just a career dream come true, it was also where he met his now wife, Jenny. Together, while starting and growing a family, they’ve also grown the business to both a wholesale and retail operation. Doing collaborations with local jewelers, such as Kendra Scott, hotels across the US, and walk-in customers at the shop. From hand-painted designs to 23-carat gold accents, Truman chocolates specialises in beautifully luxurious artisanal bonbons.

Mitch and Jenny have learned a lot along the way, and 2023 was the busiest holiday season they’ve had to date. And, it doesn’t look like Truman’s is slowing down anytime soon.

With bright and fruity flavors, like strawberry and cherry, to richer and more decadent creme brulee and champagne, you can find something that everyone will love. The glassy shine on the outside, the glitter sparkling like diamonds, and the sweet, smooth, creamy ganache filling inside are a delight to both look at and savor. I loved the variety of flavors in our box because it’s so much fun to explore them all. I think my favorite was the mojito with the combination of fresh lime and cool mint.

Thankfully each box comes with an elegantly crafted flavor card so you can map out which you would like to indulge in next. Pair a box of bonbons with a decadent dessert wine, or a rich espresso for a perfect date night.

With the holidays quickly approaching, make sure someone special has a stunning box of bonbons to enjoy. Brownie points if you get one for yourself too!

There’s not many back roads to get to Truman Chocolates, in Bryan, Texas, but the weather these days is beautiful. So make sure you take a nice little drive down the backroads before you hit town and get to the shop.

Truman Chocolates isn’t our typical feature, but they’re as family-owned and operated as it gets.
