Blue Moon BBQ

Hey y'all, Happy 4th of July!! Y'all know what that means for Texas, Barbeque!

Boog and I decided to take an easy cruise down OSR to Blue Moon BBQ, about 25 miles outside of Bryan, TX. When we pulled up and got out I could tell from the smell of the wood smoke that this was going to be good! Inside, Linda was at the window, ready to take our order. If you ask, "What's good?" She's quick to inform you that it's all good! Meanwhile, Hannah and Cassandra were back there, helping things run like clockwork, not missing a beat. Owner, Toni Moon, was off enjoying her semi-retirement but I got the opportunity to visit with her son Matthew.

Blue Moon's been open just over 16 years and they've been featured in multiple publications, including Texas Monthly's Top 50 BBQ Joints.

The two meat plate was huge, and Boog's chopped beef sandwich was as big as her head. Leftovers!! There's a special flavor in the beans that Matthew let me in on, but I promise I won't spread around. They're open Thursday - Sunday 11:00-2:45. If you're not there early, you might want to give them a call to make sure they're not sold out. Big orders are a Big part of their business, so selling out is pretty common.

If you're looking for awesome service, a beautiful drive, or flavorful, tender and perfectly cooked BBQ, you need to be Takin' the Backroads to Blue Moon BBQ
